Sewer Pipe Lining in Sacramento, CA
Fix Your Sewer Line Without Digging Up Your Yard
A cracked, root-filled or leaking sewer line used to mean a trench across your lawn, driveway or landscaping. Today, many Sacramento sewer lines can be repaired from the inside with trenchless pipe lining — also called cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining. We insert a resin-saturated liner into your existing pipe, cure it in place, and leave you with a smooth, seamless new pipe inside the old one. Your yard, trees and hardscape stay where they are.
Premier Rooter and Plumbing is a licensed C-36 plumbing contractor (CSLB #1125928) serving the Sacramento region. Every lining job starts with a camera inspection, so you see the problem before you decide anything.
Signs Your Sewer Line May Need Lining
- Recurring backups or slow drains throughout the house
- Gurgling toilets or drains when other fixtures run
- Sewer odors inside or outside the home
- Tree roots found during drain cleaning — especially if they keep coming back
- Soggy, sunken or unusually green patches of lawn over the sewer line
- A camera inspection showing cracks, offset joints or root intrusion
Why Sacramento Sewer Lines Fail
Sacramento is known as the City of Trees, and those mature trees are beautiful — until their roots find your sewer line. Many older homes in East Sacramento, Land Park, Arden-Arcade, Carmichael and surrounding neighborhoods still have their original clay or cast-iron sewer laterals. Clay pipe joints separate over time and roots move in; cast iron corrodes and cracks from the inside. Hydro jetting can clear the roots, but if the pipe itself is cracked or leaking at the joints, the roots will return. Lining seals those cracks and joints so roots can't get back in.
How Trenchless Pipe Lining Works
- Camera inspection. We run a sewer camera through the line to locate every crack, root and joint problem — and confirm lining is the right fix.
- Clean the line. We hydro jet the pipe to remove roots, grease and scale so the liner bonds to a clean surface.
- Install the liner. A flexible liner saturated with epoxy resin is inserted through an existing cleanout or small access point and inflated against the walls of the old pipe.
- Cure in place. The resin hardens into a new, jointless pipe inside the old one.
- Final camera inspection. We run the camera again so you can see the finished result.
Many lining jobs are completed in a single day, with little or no excavation.
Is Lining Right for My Sewer Line?
Lining is an excellent fix for cracked pipe, separated joints, root intrusion and minor corrosion. It isn't the right answer for every line. If a section of pipe has fully collapsed or has a severe belly (a sag that holds water), it may need to be replaced — sometimes with trenchless pipe bursting, sometimes with a traditional repair. We'll show you the camera footage and explain your options honestly. We'd rather recommend the right repair than the most expensive one.
Benefits of Trenchless Pipe Lining
- Little to no digging — protects lawns, driveways, patios and trees
- Faster than traditional excavation, often done in a day
- Seamless, jointless pipe that resists future root intrusion
- Long service life — liners are designed to last for decades
- Less restoration cost after the job is done

Sewer Pipe Lining FAQs
How much does sewer pipe lining cost in Sacramento?
Price depends on the length and diameter of the line, its condition, how many access points are needed and whether any sections must be replaced. After a camera inspection we give you a written, upfront price — no guesswork.
How long does a pipe liner last?
Cured-in-place liners are designed to last for decades. Because the new pipe has no joints, it also resists the root intrusion that damages older clay pipe.
Will lining shrink my pipe?
The liner adds a thin wall inside the pipe, but its smooth surface flows well — in most cases flow is as good as or better than the old, rough pipe.
Who is responsible for my sewer lateral?
In most cases the sewer lateral running from your home to the city connection is the homeowner's responsibility. We can inspect it and tell you exactly where the problem is.
